FREE Gluten-Free Pizza Sampler At Pala

***THE OFFICIAL INVITATION WITH INSTRUCTIONS HAS NOW BEEN SENT VIA EMAIL (5.22.08)***

I literally just got off the phone brainstorming with Edena at Pala Pizza and we need your help!

Crazy (in a good way) Edena just came up with a great idea: FREE gluten-free pizza for all of us! Since Pala offers so many different types of pizza, she wants you to be able to sample as many as possible. We have picked Saturday May 31st as the date and we know the time will be after 12pm sometime, but we thought we would get your input on how to go about this. After all, it's all about YOU!

PLAN A (aka The Anti-Social Plan)
Would you like to drop in at your leisure between 12-3pm and pick out your sampler plate of up to four different gluten-free pizza creations that will be the equivalent of two regular gluten-free slices of pizza and enjoy them in anonymity?

OR...

PLAN B (aka The Socialite Plan)
Would you like the restaurant to be closed to anyone else except for us where you all can mingle from 12-2pm and platters of many gluten-free pizza samples will be passed around?

*For either plan we will need to give a proper rsvp in advance.

Make your wishes known in the comments below! Don't be shy, c'mon this is about FREE Pizza! After we figure out what you want then I'll get back to you with the official invite and details.

Plan A but will be there either way!

I am all for OPTION B (aka The Socialite Plan). It keeps the environment relaxed and worry free while we mingle with pizza and new friends. Plus if you are not up to meeting lots of new people you can find a corner and sit with the friends you already know. It sounds like a win-win all around.

Posted by: BenevolentKitchen | May 12, 2008 2:19:59 PM

I am all for Plan B. Having just Celiacs is the best option since we can all feel comfortable with each other.

Posted by: Donna Chiarini | May 12, 2008 2:22:33 PM

Too bad so sad, I work on Saturdays, BUT, if I had to choose, I would go with the socialite plan, as it is so rare that you can just mingle and eat any food that is circulating around.
New to site, hope to hook up with you guys sometime.

I may have to take an impromptu (sorta...) trip to NYC that day! :D Wahoo. I choose Plan B because I'm pretty social. Either way, I'll plan to be there!

Posted by: reyanna | May 12, 2008 2:30:07 PM

Plan B for me, but I'll be there regardless...

Posted by: Justin G. | May 12, 2008 2:31:49 PM

I would pick option B for sure but I don't live in the area I am in Washington state :-(. Have a great time and bring back some ideas.

Posted by: Monica and Xavier | May 12, 2008 2:48:04 PM

Either one sounds great, but I think I'd prefer option A.

Posted by: kevin | May 12, 2008 2:54:11 PM

Plan A!

Posted by: Sarah | May 12, 2008 2:56:00 PM

Plan A -- family commitments (aka feeding the baby) prevent me from getting there until at least 1:30pm. I'd pick Plan B, though, if it could be extended until 3pm.

Posted by: Amy | May 12, 2008 2:56:13 PM

Plan B!
sounds like a great event!

Posted by: erica meshover | May 12, 2008 2:59:22 PM

Just so happens I'll be in town then for business. I choose Plan A because of a tight schedule but will hope to be there either way! YUM.

Posted by: Jessica | May 12, 2008 3:16:10 PM

Yum - plan A!

Yum - plan A!

Posted by: Melissa | May 12, 2008 3:19:22 PM

Plan B! Can't wait!

Posted by: Natasha | May 12, 2008 3:24:48 PM

Man on man! I'd surely opt for plan B if I could come back up...just returned home fomr NYC on Friday night. During our vacation there, we had pizza at PizzaBolla, Mozzarelli's and Risotteria. Hubby preferred the gf offerings at Moz. but since I crave thin crust pizza, I was in awe over the Risotteria pizza! We just could not fit in a visit to Pizza Pala this time. Now I can NOT wait until Pizza Fusion opens here in September! Being able to eat pizza out was a dream come true indeed!

Posted by: TJ | May 12, 2008 3:26:27 PM

If I could be in NYC for this, I would choose plan B, just so I could meet other GF people. But, alas, I am at my summer job at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, far far away! Y'all think about me on that day, though!

Posted by: Karen | May 12, 2008 3:35:36 PM

Plan A, please.
Thanks!

Posted by: Rachel | May 12, 2008 4:19:47 PM

Plan A works for me. Either way I will attend.

Hi!
I am loving the sound of Plan B!! Yummy food and the potential for meeting new friends. Yes...I'm in!

Posted by: Kay | May 12, 2008 5:51:54 PM

Either plan works for me! I can taste the pizza now......Mmmmm!

Posted by: Ingrid | May 12, 2008 6:01:11 PM

I hope to be able to make it to the city. I vote for the social option! Thanks for the choice.

Posted by: Robin | May 12, 2008 6:27:13 PM

How bout both?

Posted by: Amy | May 12, 2008 6:41:08 PM

If I was in the NYC area, I would be all for Option B. We all need the opportunities to network with and support each other. If only I were a few hundred miles closer!

Posted by: Gluten Free Fort Wayne | May 12, 2008 6:48:00 PM

Plan B but either way equals free pizza!!

Posted by: Ashley | May 12, 2008 8:14:58 PM

Sounds Wonderful! I vote for Option B. Never had an opportunity to mingle with other Celiacs. Might be tough for me to get to the city that day, but when the invites come out I will be able to confirm it. I am new to the site and would love to get together.

Plan B sounds great. Looking forward to it either way! Thanks for organizing it.

Posted by: Andrea | May 13, 2008 11:55:46 PM

I would be totally up for Plan B. I was just diagnosed, and do not know any other celiac people!

Posted by: Maureen | May 14, 2008 5:54:00 PM

Plan A, please.I rather just eat at my leisure and decide on my own if I want to mingle with others or not and not be forced into doing so.

Posted by: Mathew | May 15, 2008 1:39:27 AM

Marcela- they do serve vegan (as in dairy-free) pizza, but I'm pretty sure yeast-free is not available.

Posted by: CeliacChick | May 15, 2008 9:21:12 AM

Unfortunately, I wont be able to make it but I would definitely vote for PLAN B. I'd love the chance to meet and network with other GFs in the NYC area!

Posted by: Vittoria | May 15, 2008 10:42:33 AM

I go for plan B. I went last week and my biggest problem was picking which one I wanted. This is a great idea!

Posted by: Veronica | May 16, 2008 2:35:36 PM

Plan B please! Thanks for organizing. Is there any pizza that has no dairy and no tomato sauce? (I can't have either)

Posted by: Sara | May 17, 2008 12:36:00 PM

Plan B...But I work on Saturdays. Can you make it Sunday??
I would love to meet other celiacs..gluten intolerant people.
It would nice to eat with others who have to eat like I do!!! I also have a dairy allergy
which make it double trouble to eat out.

Posted by: Annecam | May 17, 2008 10:11:38 PM

DEFINITELY PLAN B! Either way I'm coming!

Posted by: Ia Fourmyle | May 18, 2008 9:15:41 AM

I prefer plan B. More pizza for us! It's about time the celiacs get the upper hand. Good networking too. plan A is fine too.

Posted by: Tom | May 18, 2008 4:05:59 PM

First time on this blog, and have to say that is done very well...and this idea about gluten-free pizzas for everyone is for my wife sometimes a dream, but also like you seen in Italy also here in Istra, Croatia we have only one pizzeria that makes gluten-free pizza....but the owner is the mother of a celiac girl... but we try to raise awareness with going to cook schools and doing the school hours for gluten-free cooking with future restaurants cooks....and btw...in a occasion of international celiac day we have made a gluten-free cake with more then 60 meters... but only local media was interested to be there.. so is a difficult thing to live in a country where care about celiacs are so different then in Italy...even if Italy is just 30 minutes away from us...greets from Pula(cro)

Posted by: ex cali | May 19, 2008 3:13:46 AM

plan A due to other commitments.

Posted by: diane | May 19, 2008 2:03:22 PM

either one, but Plan A really serves everyone. I'm sure the gluten-free will crowd the place and there will be plenty of socializing opportunitites and it allows a little more flexibility on timing.

Posted by: Laurie | May 19, 2008 2:55:46 PM

I would like option A, please.

Posted by: Miguel | May 20, 2008 1:54:47 AM

Plan B sounds wonderful. Can't wait!

Posted by: Corinna | May 20, 2008 11:26:07 AM

I agree with Laurie and vote for Plan A. The later it can go in the afternoon the better. I'm not sure how early I can get there. And I like the idea of limiting it to 4 half slices per person. That way there's less of a chance of them running out when the latecomers come around.

Posted by: emily ginsburg | May 20, 2008 12:10:25 PM

I just wanted to say thanks. I don't think that I will be able to make the window, but I definitely will visit thsi place soon. Any place that is as caring as this place gets my business.

Posted by: Amy | May 24, 2008 7:40:32 PM

So how do we rsvp?

Posted by: Rosa | May 26, 2008 12:40:05 AM

Either option sounds great!
